On Thursday, August 10th, the Delray Beach, Florida Chamber of Commerce held its “2017 Celebration of Education Breakfast” at the Delray Beach Golf Club. The theme at this year’s breakfast was “Thank you to Our Educators.” Key note Speaker Bill Bone spoke about “Grit and Gratitude” and along with Delray Beach Principals and 100 other educators and guests, discussed their educational successes and challenges, and kicked off the new school year.
Suzanne Spencer, in her role as Vice Chair of Education for the Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce, commented, “The Delray Beach Chamber and its members see the opportunity for businesses and schools to shift a typical interaction from transactional to one of relational.”
One of the highlights at this year’s breakfast was a series of “Oprah Moments” recognizing the educators of Delray Beach. Source1 Purchasing, in partnership with Office Depot, was a proud sponsor of the “Grand Oprah Moment for New Teachers” and donated 100 backpacks and school supplies to the new teachers.
